We are seeking an outstanding Science Teacher, with the potential to take on Science Coordinator responsibilities, to join our team at Saint Louis School Caviglia, located in the south of Milan. This is an exciting opportunity for a passionate and knowledgeable subject specialist who is eager to teach curious, motivated students within a high-achieving and supportive school community. Job Responsibility:
Plan and deliver high-quality Science lessons across the Middle/Secondary School
Inspire students through practical, enquiry-based learning and real-world applications
Use assessment effectively to monitor progress, inform planning, and support achievement
Differentiate learning to meet the needs of all students and support wellbeing
Contribute to Science curriculum development and interdisciplinary learning
Maintain high expectations for behaviour, engagement, and academic standards
Monitor, assess, and report on student progress in line with school policies
Engage positively in wider school life, including enrichment activities and events
Participate in professional development and quality assurance processes
Communicate professionally with students, colleagues, and parents, representing the school positively
Take on Science Coordinator responsibilities as appropriate, including curriculum oversight, department meetings, and supporting colleagues in their professional development
Undertake any other reasonable duties as directed by school leadership
Requirements:
A bachelor’s degree in Science or a related subject, plus a PGCE or recognised teaching qualification
Experience teaching Science within the English National Curriculum and/or international curricula (experience of IGCSE and IB is advantageous)
A passion for delivering a high-quality, engaging Science curriculum
Strong classroom management, organisation, and communication skills
A collaborative, flexible, and student-centred approach
Resilience and adaptability within a dynamic international school environment
Commitment to professional development and continuous improvement
The right to live and work in Italy (EU passport or valid work permit)
Nice to have:
Experience or interest in taking on Science Coordinator responsibilities
Some knowledge of Italian (not essential)
Experience working in international or multicultural schools
Confidence in delivering practical experiments and project-based learning
