We are seeking a well-qualified and enthusiastic Art Teacher to join the Colonna Campus from August 2026. The successful candidate will teach Art across the Middle School years (Years 6–9 / Key Stage 3 equivalent). The ideal candidate will inspire creativity, develop students’ technical and expressive skills, and foster a strong appreciation of visual arts within a dynamic international environment.
Job Responsibility:
Deliver high-quality, engaging Art lessons aligned with the school’s curriculum and the British educational framework
Develop students’ skills across a range of artistic techniques, media and processes through structured and differentiated teaching
Foster creativity, critical thinking and individual artistic expression
Create a positive, inclusive and stimulating studio/classroom environment that encourages experimentation and risk-taking
Assess, monitor and report on student progress to ensure high standards of attainment
Prepare students effectively for progression into IGCSE Art pathways
Organise and contribute to exhibitions, displays and events that celebrate student work
Collaborate with colleagues on cross-curricular projects, curriculum development and sharing of best practice
Maintain high standards of behaviour and contribute to pastoral care
Engage positively with parents and the wider school community
Uphold safeguarding and child protection procedures at all times
Requirements:
Bachelor's Degree in Fine Arts, Art Education or a closely related field
PGCE or equivalent recognised teaching qualification
Experience teaching Art at secondary or upper primary level (ages 11-14)
Strong classroom management and organisational skills
Native-level or near-native proficiency in English, with excellent written and spoken communication skills
A collaborative, student-centred and reflective approach to teaching
Confidence in a wide range of artistic media, including traditional and digital practices
Nice to have:
Experience within the British curriculum
Experience in an international or multilingual school setting
Familiarity with IGCSE Art & Design
Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent certification preferred
An EU passport or valid visa to work in Italy would be advantageous
Knowledge of the British curriculum is preferred
