Job Description:

This role combines Middle School academic leadership with whole-school strategic responsibility for teaching effectiveness and innovation. The position allocates approximately 70% of time to Middle School Academic Coordination and 30% to strategic leadership for teaching and learning across Preschool to Grade 12.

Job Responsibility:

  • Lead the development, review, and implementation of the Middle School curriculum
  • Ensure effective unit planning and alignment with IB MYP requirements using ManageBac
  • Work collaboratively with PYP, High School, and National Curriculum leaders to ensure curriculum continuity
  • Support Heads of Department in curriculum planning and consistent teaching practices
  • Conduct classroom learning visits to support teacher development and quality assurance
  • Oversee assessment systems, data analysis, and student reporting for Grades 6-8
  • Monitor student academic performance and use data to inform improvement strategies
  • Lead parent engagement related to academic programmes and student progress
  • Coordinate all aspects of the IB Middle Years Programme, including compliance, documentation, and staff support
  • Provide induction, mentoring, and professional development for MYP teachers
  • Lead a whole-school strategy to improve teaching effectiveness and innovation
  • Establish and uphold standards for high-quality teaching and learning
  • Design and coordinate professional learning and coaching programmes
  • Promote inquiry-based, concept-based, and interdisciplinary learning
  • Research, pilot, and scale innovative teaching practices
  • Use data and classroom evidence to inform professional learning and leadership decisions
  • Foster a culture of collaboration, reflective practice, and continuous improvement
  • Support staff induction and ongoing professional growth

Requirements:

  • Qualified Middle School teacher with IB MYP experience
  • Strong understanding of the IB MYP framework and effective pedagogy
  • Proven ability to lead curriculum development and professional learning
  • Excellent communication, leadership, and interpersonal skills
  • Strong organizational and strategic planning skills
  • High level of written and spoken English
