This role combines Middle School academic leadership with whole-school strategic responsibility for teaching effectiveness and innovation. The position allocates approximately 70% of time to Middle School Academic Coordination and 30% to strategic leadership for teaching and learning across Preschool to Grade 12.
Job Responsibility:
Lead the development, review, and implementation of the Middle School curriculum
Ensure effective unit planning and alignment with IB MYP requirements using ManageBac
Work collaboratively with PYP, High School, and National Curriculum leaders to ensure curriculum continuity
Support Heads of Department in curriculum planning and consistent teaching practices
Conduct classroom learning visits to support teacher development and quality assurance
Oversee assessment systems, data analysis, and student reporting for Grades 6-8
Monitor student academic performance and use data to inform improvement strategies
Lead parent engagement related to academic programmes and student progress
Coordinate all aspects of the IB Middle Years Programme, including compliance, documentation, and staff support
Provide induction, mentoring, and professional development for MYP teachers
Lead a whole-school strategy to improve teaching effectiveness and innovation
Establish and uphold standards for high-quality teaching and learning
Design and coordinate professional learning and coaching programmes
Promote inquiry-based, concept-based, and interdisciplinary learning
Research, pilot, and scale innovative teaching practices
Use data and classroom evidence to inform professional learning and leadership decisions
Foster a culture of collaboration, reflective practice, and continuous improvement
Support staff induction and ongoing professional growth
Requirements:
Qualified Middle School teacher with IB MYP experience
Strong understanding of the IB MYP framework and effective pedagogy
Proven ability to lead curriculum development and professional learning
Excellent communication, leadership, and interpersonal skills
Strong organizational and strategic planning skills
