As a Middle Office Equities Analyst, you will manage high volumes of work in a fast-paced, demanding environment, ensuring trade economics are pristine and risk is minimized. Job Responsibility
Providing comprehensive middle office trade support across allocation, reconciliation, and inventory balancing functions
Ensuring accurate trade capture, matching, and settlement readiness for equities and derivatives flows
Acting as a key control point between the Front Office, external clients, custodians, and clearing/depository platforms (CDS/DTC)
Focusing heavily on break resolution, risk mitigation (fails/capital), and adhering strictly to regulatory timelines (including the T+1 lifecycle)
Performing block and step-out allocations across client and internal accounts while managing DKs, unmatched, and unaffirmed trades
Monitoring and resolving exceptions in CTM and various matching platforms, validating trade economics against OMS and street records
Utilizing and maintaining Excel VBA spreadsheets to support daily operational effectiveness and macro-driven tools
Navigating core shift schedules (Monday to Friday, 7:00 AM to 4:00 PM or 9:00 AM to 6:00 PM) based on business coverage needs, with flexibility for overtime as required
Requirements
2 to 4 years of overall professional experience, featuring at least 3 years specifically within a middle office capacity
3+ years of capital markets experience with a deep understanding of institutional equities
Proven proficiency using books and records systems, institutional matching, or clearing platforms (e.g., ISM/IBM, SOPHIS, FIDESSA, CTM, CDS, DTC)
Advanced proficiency in MS Excel, specifically the ability to use and maintain VBA macros
Proven ability to manage high volumes of work under tight deadlines while mitigating risk and supporting a T+1 settlement environment
Nice to have
A completed University or College degree in a STEM discipline
Successful completion of Canadian Securities Institute (CSI) courses with a specific tieback to Equities (e.g., CSC, CPH, or Derivatives courses)
