Job Description

This entry level role offers a unique opportunity within our Equity Cash Middle Office, focusing on supporting trading desks and clients. You will play a pivotal role in maintaining accurate records, enhancing process efficiency, and delivering robust operational support.

Job Responsibility

  • Operational Excellence: Proactively investigate and resolve trade discrepancies, breaks, and other operational issues, ensuring timely and accurate transaction booking and settlement
  • Front-Office Collaboration: Provide essential analytical and administrative support to front-office teams, fostering strong partnerships
  • Transaction Management: Lead daily reconciliation efforts across trades, positions, and cash balances between front office, back office, and external counterparties
  • Risk Mitigation & Compliance: Identify, assess, and escalate potential operational risks and control deficiencies. Monitor pre-trade and post-trade controls to prevent errors, ensure compliance, and contribute to strategic change projects, safeguarding the organization's integrity through adherence to policies, regulations, and ethical judgment
  • Continuous Improvement: Actively contribute to the development and implementation of process enhancements that boost efficiency, reduce errors, and mitigate risk, aligning with internal policies and external regulatory standards. Drive the adoption of innovative techniques for the trade lifecycle
  • Client & Stakeholder Engagement: Serve as a primary point of contact for clients, brokers, and custodians, addressing inquiries regarding trade status, and other post-trade activities. Cultivate strong working relationships with diverse internal stakeholders (trading, sales, compliance, technology) and external partners
  • Data-Driven Insights & Strategic Projects: Analyze operational data to identify trends, root causes, and propose actionable solutions for process optimization. Contribute to ad-hoc projects and analyses as required by management, shaping future strategies

  • Proven ability to manage workloads and adhering to tight deadlines
  • Robust numeric and analytical insight, coupled with meticulous attention to detail for root cause analysis and sustainable problem-solving
  • High adaptability and resilience, thriving in fast-paced, evolving environments
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, particularly advanced Excel functions (e.g., VLOOKUP, pivot tables)

  • Participate and lead process implementation of daily, weekly and monthly settlements of physical and financial trading activities (Accounts Payable/Receivable)
  • Collaborate with the Contract and Account Management team to accurately reconcile power plant generation output and pricing as well as settlement and invoicing of Renewable Energy Credits
  • Perform analytical research to determine cause of settlement discrepancies
  • Coordinate with counterparties to proactively and timely resolve invoice reconciliation discrepancies
  • Monitor power and natural gas transactions to ensure they are correctly captured in the transaction management system, ensuring data quality, deal confirmation and communicating impacts to commercial and accounting teams
  • Understand contract details, fees, rates, and payment schedules to ensure all items for settlement are captured in a timely manner
  • Reconcile RTO/ISO statements to estimates and ensure all costs are correctly allocated to the proper generation assets
  • Develop reporting methodology to accurately present realized fees and P&L to Front Office, Middle Office and Portfolio Management teams
  • Assure accuracy and integrity of activity recorded in general ledger
