Bryan Cave Leighton Paisner (BCLP) is seeking a highly motivated mid‑ to senior‑level associate (approx. 4–7+ years of experience) to join its Business & Commercial Disputes team in Dallas. This role offers the opportunity to work on complex, high-stakes litigation matters for a sophisticated national and international client base across a range of industries. The ideal candidate is a strategic and detail-oriented litigator with strong case management skills, experience in all phases of litigation, and the ability to assume significant client responsibility. Job Responsibility
Manage and drive complex commercial litigation matters in state and federal courts from inception through resolution
Draft and argue dispositive and non-dispositive motions, including motions to dismiss, summary judgment, and evidentiary motions
Conduct and defend depositions, including fact and expert witnesses
Lead and manage discovery strategy, including document production, requests, and e-discovery coordination
Participate in trial preparation and trial, including witness preparation, exhibit strategy, and courtroom advocacy
Provide strategic legal advice to clients on dispute risks, litigation exposure, and business implications
Work directly with clients, including in-house counsel and business stakeholders, to develop practical, business-oriented solutions
Supervise and mentor junior associates and collaborate effectively with cross-office teams
Requirements
J.D. from an accredited law school with strong academic credentials
Admission to the Texas Bar (or eligibility for prompt admission)
4–7 years of experience in complex commercial litigation at a law firm of comparable caliber
Prior Department of Justice experience a plus
Experience with a broad range of commercial disputes (e.g., contract disputes, business torts, partnership/shareholder disputes, fiduciary duty claims)
