The Boeing Company is currently seeking a Mid-Level Linux Administrator to join the team in Huntsville, AL. Step into the role of Mid-Level Linux Administrator, where you will play a vital role in supporting multiple programs within the Boeing Information Digital Technology and Security (IDT&S) organization. In this dynamic position, you will leverage your expertise in Linux systems to ensure the reliability and performance of our infrastructure across various projects. Your contributions will be essential in maintaining and optimizing our Linux environments, enabling our teams to deliver innovative solutions effectively. Job Responsibility

  • Performs system integration, hardware and software installation, configuration and disposition of servers and workstations to support the architecture
  • Provides problem resolution and technical support for delivery systems
  • Provides support for the design, validation and configuration management of computing delivery systems
  • Administers users system access and works to protect information to meet security requirements
  • Monitors system performance to support capacity planning, backup and disaster recovery planning

Requirements

  • Active CompTIA Security+ DoD Approved 8570/8140 Baseline Certification
  • 3+ years of experience with installing, configuring, troubleshooting, and administering current Linux versions
  • 3+ years of experience with deploying, securing and supporting Red Hat Enterprise Linux operating systems (RHEL5/6/7/8)
  • 3+ years of experience with maintaining and configuring Active Directory (AD)

Nice to have

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent work or military experience
  • 3+ years of experience with a broad range of basic systems and application support
  • 3+ years of experience with scripts to automate deployment and configuration of operating systems
  • 3+ years of experience creating and maintaining multiple virtual servers based on VMware
  • 3+ years of experience evaluating and effectively communicating system problems and resolution
  • 3+ years of experience integrating security solutions (e.g. Splunk) into information systems
