Bryan Cave Leighton Paisner LLP (BCLP), a top Am Law 100 firm, is seeking a highly motivated and exceptionally qualified mid-level associate (4–7 years of experience) to join its nationally recognized Litigation & Disputes Practice Group, with a focus on class actions and mass torts. This position is open to candidates in any of the firm’s U.S. offices. This is a unique opportunity to work alongside leading litigators defending global companies in complex, high-exposure matters. Associates will play a meaningful role in all aspects of case development, including participation in high-stakes trial teams and handling bet-the-company class actions and mass tort litigation
Job Responsibility
Participate in the defense of complex class action and mass tort matters in state and federal courts
Manage and support all phases of litigation, including: Pleadings and motion practice, Fact and expert discovery, Depositions (taking and defending), Class certification briefing and strategy, Trial preparation and trial support, Appellate briefing and support
Collaborate closely with partners and clients on litigation strategy and case management
Interface directly with clients and contribute to strategic decision-making
Requirements
Federal circuit court clerkship and/or Assistant U.S. Attorney (AUSA) experience
4–7 years of complex litigation experience within a big law firm setting, including fact and expert witness deposition experience
Demonstrated experience supporting trial teams in state or federal jury trials
Superior analytical and problem-solving abilities
Exceptional written and oral communication skills
Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines
Ability to take ownership of assignments and assume a high degree of responsibility
Client-service mindset with the ability to manage client engagements effectively
Excellent interpersonal skills, with a collaborative and team-oriented approach
J.D. from an accredited law school and admission to the bar in the state of location preference (or ability to become admitted promptly)
