Job Description:

This role is primarily a MicroStrategy expert who can translate complex MSTR logic into accurate Power BI models and reports.

Job Responsibility:

  • Translate complex MSTR logic into accurate Power BI models and reports
  • Analyze MicroStrategy reports (Grid, Documents, Dossiers) including attributes, metrics, filters, prompts, and VLDB settings
  • Understand and interpret MSTR metric definitions, level metrics, conditional metrics, and transformations
  • Review and validate generated SQL / Freeform SQL used in MSTR reports
  • Identify data grain, joins, and aggregation logic in MSTR to avoid semantic mismatches
  • Troubleshoot data discrepancies by comparing MSTR outputs with PBI reports
  • Work closely with DBAs and SMEs to resolve schema, object, and access-related issues impacting report logic
  • Design and build Power BI semantic models that correctly replicate MSTR report logic
  • Develop DAX measures equivalent to MSTR metrics, handling filter and row context correctly
  • Build Power BI reports / Paginated reports based on report complexity and column volume
  • Perform MSTR vs Power BI data validation and support UAT sign-off

Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s or Higher Degree
  • 5+ years hands-on MicroStrategy development experience
  • Proven experience migrating or analyzing MSTR reports for BI modernization
  • Strong SQL for data validation and reconciliation
  • Solid experience in Power BI Desktop, DAX, and semantic modeling
  • Experience handling complex, high-utilization reports
