Job Description:

The Power Platform Site Reliability Engineer will work within the global AWS Cloud Services team and will be responsible for supporting highly resilient, scalable, reusable, and performant Power Platform infrastructure. The role involves monitoring and managing HSBC Power Platform Foundation, conducting root cause analysis for issues, collaborating on improvements, and supporting non-functional testing. Engineers will work within a cloud-native environment alongside the DevOps team and collaborate across the AWS Cloud Services team, Microsoft, and Cyber Security. The role emphasizes reliability, automation, stakeholder management, and effective communication.

Job Responsibility:

  • Serve as an SRE champion across infrastructure and application improvements
  • Monitor and manage HSBC Power Platform Foundation platform to enable application deployments
  • Monitor Microsoft service health alerts, product updates and share with the engineering team and business
  • Conduct root cause analysis for underlying issues and incidents that affect systems performance and availability, identifying and resolving errors to minimize re-occurrence
  • Update support and operational documentation as required
  • Monitor Power Platform support request queue, triage and assign to appropriate engineering team
  • Perform engineering activities to implement patches and support software package provided centrally
  • Input and make recommendations for improvement of our monitoring and incident response
  • Work with both technical and non-technical colleagues and ensure business SLI/SLO’s are met and continuously improved
  • Be a recognized and trusted partner for business application owners and other technology teams who use Cloud-based infrastructure
  • Highlight areas for improvement within infrastructure design for improved resilience and see these changes through to production
  • Maintain and advance deep technical skills and knowledge, staying up-to-date with market trends and competitive insights
  • Deliver in self-contained or team environments
  • Provide out-of-hours coverage as per roster
  • Support non-functional testing

Requirements:

  • Strong understanding of the Microsoft Power Platform (Power Apps, Power Automate, Power, Data Loss Policies, On-Premises Data Gateways, Environments Management, Storage Management, etc)
  • Understanding of AWS Services (e.g. AWS DevOps, AWS Monitor, AWS Health Notification, AWS KeyVault, Application Insight, KQL, vNet, etc.)
  • Proficiency in automation and scripting (e.g. PowerShell, C# and Python)
  • Experience in dealing with multiple support groups that contribute to a service
  • Understanding of CI/CD best practise – coding, tooling and techniques
  • Experience with incident management and problem solving
