Job Description:

We are seeking an experienced Microsoft Dynamics NAV Developer to support, enhance, and optimize a legacy NAV 2016 ERP environment that supports rental and inventory operations. This is a hands-on role focused on development within a heavily customized NAV instance that includes a deeply integrated rental industry ISV. The ideal candidate has strong NAV (not Business Central) technical expertise, understands rental-based business processes, and is comfortable working in complex, mature codebases. The immediate focus is a high-priority project involving custom page development and scanning-based workflows, with additional NAV enhancement and stabilization work expected over time.

Job Responsibility:

  • Design, develop, and maintain customizations, reports, and extensions in Microsoft Dynamics NAV 2016
  • Perform development primarily within custom and ISV-based code, with limited use of standard NAV functionality
  • Build temporary and permanent NAV pages supporting rental, logistics, and inventory workflows
  • Troubleshoot and resolve NAV issues related to performance, table locking, job queues, and integrations
  • Collaborate with stakeholders across logistics, finance, sales, and asset management
  • Maintain and enhance integrations with platforms such as Salesforce, Power BI, and Boomi
  • Optimize SQL Server performance related to NAV, including table contention and database wait behavior
  • Document technical designs, configurations, and custom functionality

Requirements:

  • Strong hands-on experience with Microsoft Dynamics NAV 2016
  • Experience working in highly customized NAV environments, including ISVs or industry-specific solutions
  • Understanding of rental-based business models (items that are rented and returned rather than sold)
  • Strong C/AL development skills and ability to navigate complex code structures
  • Working knowledge of SQL Server performance considerations beyond basic query writing
  • Self-directed, execution-focused, and able to work effectively in fast-paced environments
  • Positive, collaborative communicator and strong team player

Nice to have:

  • Experience with Armada or similar Dynamics NAV rental ISVs
  • Background supporting rental, asset-tracking, or logistics-driven ERP systems
  • Exposure to ERP modernization or migration initiatives
  • Knowledge of Dynamics 365 Business Central (recognizing it is technically different from NAV)
  • Experience working in private-equity-backed or fast-moving environments
