Job Description:

Based within the Digital Workplace team, the Microsoft 365 Support Engineer play a pivotal role in supporting the University's suite of collaboration and productivity platforms, ensuring they meet organisational needs; support staff and student productivity; and remain at the forefront of technological innovation.

Job Responsibility:

  • Provide second and third-line support for the University’s Microsoft 365 (M365) platform and other associated collaboration services
  • Contribute to knowledge transfer, documentation and the upskilling of first-line support teams
  • Support selected legacy systems during transition periods
  • Play a supporting role in projects to modernise, decommission or migrate legacy systems into the Microsoft 365 ecosystem

Requirements:

  • Strong experience supporting Microsoft 365 in a large or complex organisation
  • Proven experience of providing second and/or third-line technical support (for M365 products)
  • Good working knowledge of Exchange Online, Microsoft Teams, SharePoint Online, OneDrive, and Azure AD/Entra ID
  • Experience of automating administrative tasks using PowerShell, Power Automate or Microsoft Graph API
  • Experience supporting or transitioning from legacy IT systems
  • Experience creating technical documentation and knowledge articles
  • Ability to communicate technical concepts clearly to non-technical audiences
