We are seeking a skilled and motivated Microgrid & Energy Systems Engineer to join our growing team in Boothwyn, PA. This role is ideal for candidates who thrive in a multidisciplinary environment and enjoy solving complex technical and market-driven challenges.

Job Responsibility

  • Design and develop microgrid control engines optimized for behind-the-meter participation in real-time energy markets, integrating hardware and software components into a cohesive system
  • Model revenue projections for battery energy storage systems under varying marketplace conditions, regulatory frameworks, and grid environments
  • Serve as a customer-facing engineering lead, supporting account management activities, understanding customer needs, and building long-term relationships
  • Lead onboarding of new customers, ensuring smooth deployment, configuration, and alignment of expectations as systems transition into operation
  • Collaborate cross-functionally with engineering, product, data, and operations teams to improve system interoperability, data analytics pipelines, and automation workflows
  • Analyze market requirements and customer feedback to drive scalable, reliable, and maintainable engineering solutions
  • Support project deployment, testing, and commissioning across diverse customer sites and product lines, ensuring high-quality performance and reliability

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Computer Science, or a related technical field
  • 7-10 years of professional experience in energy systems, controls engineering, software development, or grid operations
  • Experience with energy market participation, regulatory modeling, or utility billing systems is highly desirable
  • Strong understanding of distributed energy resources (DERs), battery energy storage systems (BESS), and microgrid controls
  • Understanding of Microgrid Thermal Energy Systems, including thermal load management, thermal storage, and integrated controls
  • Proven ability to communicate clearly with customers, manage relationships, and translate technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders
  • Excellent problem-solving skills and ability to work onsite in a collaborative, hands-on environment
