The Microbial Identification Assistant plays a key role in supporting the identification process of microbial samples within a regulated laboratory environment. This position is responsible for the initial handling and preparation of samples prior to identification, ensuring accuracy and compliance throughout the workflow. Core activities include sample labeling, subculturing, incubation, and assisting with Environmental Monitoring (EM) media growth promotion tasks.
Job Responsibility:
Perform sample processing activities, including labeling, subculturing, and incubation, in accordance with established protocols
Support EM media growth promotion and related quality control activities
Adhere to organizational policies, procedures, and applicable state, federal, and local regulations
Maintain awareness of current and emerging regulatory standards related to Environmental Monitoring and Quality Manufacturing
Collaborate effectively with EM personnel, cross-functional teams, and management to ensure smooth operations
Conduct Environmental Monitoring activities as needed
Ensure compliance with all regulatory and company requirements
Perform additional duties as assigned to support departmental goals.
Requirements:
Education or experience in environmental monitoring, microbiology, or laboratory processes preferred
Ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment with high workload demands
Familiarity with industry practices, techniques, and standards
Strong interpersonal and communication skills, both written and verbal
Physical ability to lift to 30 lbs. and perform tasks requiring pushing, pulling, and reaching
Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and Outlook.
