Job Description

Peabody is seeking an experienced Manager Corporate Accounting to lead the Corporate Accounting team (two direct reports) within the Peabody Australia Group. You will be responsible for the integrity and timely delivery of corporate accounting results across multiple entities. This is a hands-on role managing month‑end, quarter‑end and year‑end close processes, ensuring compliance with USGAAP and IFRS, and supporting stakeholders across Australia and the United States. The role accounts purely for the Australian business, with liaison with US‑based stakeholders as part of group reporting requirements. You will lead a small team of two direct reports and play a key role in coaching, mentoring, and building capability within the function.

Job Responsibility

  • Lead month‑end, quarter‑end and year‑end close activities for Corporate entities, including SG&A, FX, intercompany, equity investments and balance sheet reconciliations
  • Ensure compliance with USGAAP, IFRS, SOX, SEC and ASIC requirements across corporate and exploration entities
  • Manage and develop two direct reports, driving performance, engagement and continuous improvement

Requirements

  • CA or CPA qualification with strong month‑end financial accounting experience
  • Background in large, complex corporate environments (accounting firm or industry)
  • Experience with SAP or another large ERP, internal controls, multi‑entity structures, and USD/AUD currency reporting
