We are seeking a linguistically gifted and culturally passionate Qualified MFL Teacher (QTS) to join a vibrant Secondary School in the Cambridge area. We are looking for a specialist who can teach French and/or Spanish to KS3 and KS4 (with the ability to teach both being a significant advantage). This is a role for a teacher who doesn't just teach grammar and vocabulary, but opens a window to the world, fostering global citizenship and a genuine love for international cultures.
Job Responsibility:
Immersive Lesson Delivery: Plan and deliver high-energy, interactive lessons focusing on Listening, Speaking, Reading, and Writing
GCSE Excellence: Prepare Year 10 and 11 students for AQA or Edexcel exams, focusing on oral confidence and spontaneous speech
Cultural Integration: Incorporate film, music, and authentic texts to bring the language to life
Adaptive Scaffolding: Use creative strategies to engage mixed-ability cohorts and support students with SEN
Literacy Development: Strengthen students' understanding of English grammar by drawing parallels with the target language
Departmental Collaboration: Assist in organising cultural exchange opportunities, international trips, or language clubs to boost MFL profile across the school
Requirements:
Qualified Teacher Status (QTS): Mandatory
Degree in French, Spanish, or a related Modern Languages discipline
Near-Native Fluency
Exceptional command of the target language(s) and a deep understanding of the associated cultures
