The Mexico Operations Assistant role is responsible for managing Bison’s Mexico operational activities with Mexican carrier partners, customers, and equipment. This position supports all departments including Customer Service, Dispatch, Maintenance, and Planning with a focus on operations involving Texas and California border regions and Mexico. Key responsibilities include tracking and tracing shipments, coordinating cross-border moves, and ensuring timely facilitation of customs and border processes. The ideal candidate is highly organized, an effective communicator, and able to manage multiple time-sensitive tasks in a fast-paced environment.
Job Responsibility:
Identification and resolution of all non-routine and time-sensitive issues that occur after regular business hours
Management of all after-hours satellite, telephone and in-person communications for multiple city and highway fleets
Manage all incoming inquiries and provide excellent customer service according to company standards
Reporting and documenting of all operational activity for customer service, planning and driver related issues to the appropriate personnel
Maintain strong communication with customers, ensuring their requests, concerns, and service needs are addressed promptly
Provide timely and accurate shipment status updates, including proactive communication of any delays or service impacts
Manage and coordinate the movement of loads between the U.S. and Mexico, ensuring compliance with all legal, regulatory, and documentation requirements
Verify that accurate information is provided to brokers and customers for customs processing
Confirm that brokers are preparing and submitting proper crossing documentation with complete and correct data
Requirements:
Bilingual or fluent in Spanish and English
Previous experience in logistics, transportation, or supply chain operations
Knowledge of cross-border logistics, customs procedures, and documentation
High school diploma or equivalent
Strong communication and interpersonal skills
Proficiency in relevant software and tools for route planning and documentation
Ability to work in a fast-paced and dynamic environment
Strong decision making and organizational skills
Knowledge of United States, Canada, and Mexico geography
Well organized, excellent communicator, and have a keen sense of timeliness
Analytical and critical thinking skills
Ability to understand and provide good customer service and support
