Job Description:

Join our team delivering high-quality traffic enforcement and monitoring systems across local authority networks. As a MEWP Operator, you’ll play a vital role installing, maintaining, and removing Videalert and Vortex Edge roadside systems on street lighting columns and other infrastructure. Your expertise will ensure our projects are delivered safely, efficiently, and to the highest standards.

Job Responsibility:

  • Operate Mobile Elevated Work Platforms (MEWPs) safely and efficiently in line with IPAF and HERS standards
  • Install and remove roadside and pole-mounted Videalert and Vortex Edge systems
  • Conduct pre-use inspections of MEWPs and tools, reporting any issues promptly
  • Follow detailed work instructions and route plans to complete daily tasks efficiently
  • Work in pairs or small teams, coordinating to ensure safe and effective operations
  • Deploy Traffic Management correctly, ensuring safe layouts and signage
  • Maintain accurate site records, inspection logs, and time documentation
  • Adhere to all Health & Safety and Working at Height procedures, including PPE and risk assessments
  • Represent the company professionally in public-facing environments

Requirements:

  • Valid IPAF Operator Certification (Category 1b / 3b)
  • Full UK Driving Licence
  • Experience operating cherry pickers or MEWPs in roadside, electrical, or telecoms environments
  • Basic CCTV knowledge and network connectivity understanding
  • Awareness of risk assessments and on-site safety practices
  • Ability to work outdoors in all weather conditions
  • Excellent safety awareness and attention to detail
  • Strong understanding of working at height protocols and traffic management principles
  • Good problem-solving and decision-making skills
  • Ability to work independently and manage workload effectively
  • Physically capable of performing manual tasks and working at height safely

Nice to have:

  • G39 Electrical Safety Training
  • HERS-approved Safe Electrical Isolation Training (or equivalent)
  • ECS or CSCS card
  • Experience with ITS, ANPR, or CCTV roadside systems
