Job Description:

OnSite is expanding and we’re looking for motivated customer-focused surveyors to join our AMP8 water metering programme across the West Midlands and Staffordshire. This is an excellent opportunity for long term work on a brand new scheme with localised appointments - with all jobs in close proximity of each other.

Job Responsibility:

  • Install water meters externally at domestic properties
  • Carry out external site surveys in support of installation activities
  • Respond to maintenance requests and diagnose and resolve faults with meters and associated equipment
  • Work safely and efficiently in accordance with company policies and industry standards
  • Accurately complete all work records and customer documentation
  • Maintain clear and effective communication with planners and the delivery team
  • Provide a positive customer experience by explaining how the meter works and answering any questions regarding its features and usage

Requirements:

  • NRSWA accreditation desirable
  • EUSR Water Hygiene Card
  • Full UK Driving Licence
  • Strong understanding of reinstatement practices and traffic management
  • Good working knowledge of Health & Safety legislation and best practices in utility environments
  • Ability to use, repair, and maintain machinery and tools, and a basic understanding of water distribution systems preferred
  • Previous experience in smart water metering or similar work stream, installing water meters or working in a plumbing or utilities environment
  • Ability to work independently, manage time effectively, and prioritise tasks and deliver quality workmanship
  • Physically fit and ability to work outdoors in all weather conditions
  • Competent using handheld/mobile technology for reporting and auditing
  • Strong communication and customer service skills are crucial, as the suitable candidate will be representing the company to the public
