Designation : Meter Testing Assistant. Department O&M. Location Kochi. Job Description : • Assist WA & Meter Test Engineer in conducting water audit and meter testing activities. • Support in installation, removal, and handling of bulk and consumer water meters. • Carry out field data collection (readings, flow, pressure, consumption records). • Help in meter calibration activities on-site or at test benches. • Maintain tools, equipment, and testing instruments in good working condition. • Prepare sample registers, field sheets, and assist in report compilation. • Support in identifying defective, tampered, or under-registering meters. • Assist in pipeline survey, leakage identification, and NRW-related field work. • Ensure proper handling of equipment and follow site safety guidelines. • Cooperate with operators, fitters, and helpers during field audits. • Report daily work progress to WA & Meter Test Engineer.

Requirements:

  • ITI / Diploma (Mechanical / Electrical / Instrumentation) or 12th Pass with technical exposure
  • Work Experience: 0–2 Years (experience in water supply / utilities / meter testing preferred but not mandatory)
  • Basic Technical Skills: Knowledge of water meters, tools, and fittings
  • Data Handling: Ability to take accurate readings and maintain field records
  • Teamwork: Works effectively under the guidance of WA & Meter Test Engineer
  • Safety Awareness: Understanding of safe practices in handling meters, pipelines, and testing equipment
  • Adaptability: Flexible to work in field conditions, shifts, and emergency audits
  • Observation Skills: Ability to detect abnormal meter behavior and report promptly
  • Learning Attitude: Keen to learn meter calibration and water audit techniques from seniors
  • Discipline & Reliability: Punctual, dependable, and responsible in carrying out assigned tasks
  • Communication: Ability to clearly report daily field activities to Engineer
  • Physical Fitness: Capable of performing outdoor field work and handling equipment
