Job Description:

We are looking for an experienced MES Specialist to join the Technical Services department of UCB. In this role, you will develop and maintain MES recipes within the Syncade system (Emerson), ensuring compliance with GMP and site quality standards. You will work closely with cross-functional teams including QA, Compliance, and Operations, contributing to the continuous improvement of our digital manufacturing processes.

Job Responsibility:

  • Act as Subject Matter Expert (SME) for the MES Syncade system
  • Develop, configure, and test MES recipes following GAMP5 and good engineering practices
  • Participate actively in programming, FAT, commissioning, and SAT activities
  • Collaborate closely with QA, Compliance, and Engineering teams to ensure GMP and validation requirements are met
  • Maintain complete and accurate documentation (Functional Specifications, qualification protocols, etc.) within the Electronic Document Management System
  • Support continuous improvement initiatives related to MES functionalities and process automation
  • Contribute to ensuring compliance with quality (cGMP), safety, and environmental (HSE) regulations

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in Engineering, Automation, Computer Science, or related field
  • At least 5 years of experience in MES recipe development (Syncade or similar systems like OpCenter, Plex, or Werum PAS-X)
  • Solid understanding of GMP, GAMP5, and relevant standards (ISA-88, ISA-95)
  • Strong documentation, communication, and organizational skills
  • able to manage multiple projects in parallel
  • Rigorous, autonomous, and detail-oriented with strong analytical skills
  • Collaborative mindset and proven ability to work effectively across departments
  • Fluent in English (spoken and written)
