The EMEA Grocery and Retail business is rapidly growing, and we are looking for a highly driven Merchant Operations Manager to take end-to-end ownership of Merchant Operations in Poland, one of our most strategic emerging markets. This role sits within our EMEA Retail Central Operations team based in Amsterdam but is fully dedicated to Poland. This structure combines deep local market accountability with the leverage of central expertise, best practice sharing, and scalable operational design across EMEA. As the Poland Merchant Operations Manager, you will be the dedicated owner for all merchant operational performance in the market. You will obsess over merchant quality, reliability, experience, and growth, partnering closely with local Poland teams across Retail, as well as Commercial stakeholders and Uber Eats Operations teams.

Job Responsibility

  • Serve as the primary point of contact and dedicated owner for all merchant operational topics in Poland
  • Represent Poland Merchant Operations in regional forums, providing direct input into Operations and Product strategy based on market performance, merchant needs, and frontline insights
  • Own pre-launch, launch, and post-launch hypercare processes for Poland merchants, ensuring correct configurations, catalog quality, operational setup, and compliance requirements are met
  • Build scalable processes that enable merchants to operate effectively from day one while balancing speed and long-term operational health
  • Own merchant operational KPIs in Poland, including quality, reliability, cancellations, and availability
  • Analyze performance trends, identify root causes of defects, define clear improvement plans, and execute initiatives that drive measurable and sustained performance gains
  • Partner closely with Poland Commercial and Account Management teams to unlock merchant growth
  • Identify operational barriers limiting performance, translate merchant pain points into scalable solutions, and support structured performance reviews and action planning for strategic accounts
  • Develop deep understanding in the Grocery and Retail merchant product suite, including Uber Eats Manager, Orders, and Inventory and Catalog platforms
  • Identify adoption gaps, drive best practice implementation, and partner with Ops and Product teams to create and/or improve tools and workflows for the Poland market

Requirements

  • 3+ years of professional experience in business operations, consulting, analytics, technology, banking, or a related field
  • Strong structured thinking with the ability to break down complex operational challenges, prioritize what matters most, and define clear, logical solutions in ambiguous environments
  • High ownership and urgency with the ability to move from plan to action quickly, drive initiatives through to completion, and deliver measurable results
  • Experience working with complex datasets using SQL, Excel/Google Sheets (or equivalent tools) to derive insights, validate real-world observations, and synthesize recommendations

Nice to have

  • Scaling Operational Processes: Experience designing and executing high impact operational processes at scale
  • External Partner/Client/Account management: Experience and comfort working with external partners is a plus, as you will closely partner with and enable Commercial teams to ensure merchant partners succeed on our platform
  • Fluency in Polish is a strong plus given the close collaboration with local Poland Operations and Commercial teams
