Job Description

This summer you could have the opportunity to work for one of the leading fashion retailers in North America, Chico's FAS is a company of three unique brands – Chico's, White House Black Market, and Soma. Our 11-week Summer Internship Program is the perfect way to gain work experience within the core of the organization. The Merchandising Intern will assist the merchandising team with the development and execution of departmental seasonal strategies, maintenance of assortment sheets and compiling of reports. The intern will support the team with the purchase order process, preparation for key PLC meetings and maintenance of samples. The intern will develop a clear understanding of the customer and the competition and assists through the entire product life cycle process.

Job Responsibility

  • Assist the merchandising team with the development and execution of departmental seasonal strategies
  • Maintenance of assortment sheets and compiling of reports
  • Support the team with the purchase order process, preparation for key PLC meetings and maintenance of samples
  • Develop a clear understanding of the customer and the competition and assists through the entire product life cycle process
  • Be exposed to the total business processes and procedures
  • Gain an understanding of the roles of the retail professionals
  • Assist with special projects as assigned

Requirements

  • Junior or Senior status at an accredited college or university with minimum GPA of 3.0
  • Interest in pursuing a career in retail
  • Strong communication, organizational skills, and an eagerness to learn
  • An eye for trend and passion for the fashion / retail industry
  • Experience working in Excel (Pivot Tables, V Lookups)
  • Exposure to weekly selling reports and costing
