As a Merchandise Planning Analyst, you will bring the financial strategy of our product vision to life by providing insights and guidance for our largest financial asset – our inventory. You will drive the success of our product lines by simulating data discoveries for profitability and productivity roadmaps.
Job Responsibility:
Analyze historical performance and current trends to identify risks and opportunities by style, category and department
Create sales and inventory ladder plans (weekly/monthly/quarterly) that align with company budgets
Manage Open-to-Buy (OTB) reports, forecasting receipt flow to ensure optimal inventory levels and maximize inventory turn while minimizing markdowns
Collaborate with Buying teams to develop assortment strategies that marry brand vision with customer needs
Build and maintain comprehensive reporting dashboards tracking key performance indicators (KPIs) such as sell-through, inventory turn, and margin
Partner with Buying and Planning to align inventory needs with sales opportunities
Requirements:
1–3+ years of experience in retail planning, allocation, inventory management, or merchandise analysis
Bachelor’s degree in Business, Finance, Statistics, Supply Chain, or a related field
Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel (pivot tables, v-lookups, complex formulas) is essential
Strong retail math skills with the ability to translate data into actionable business recommendations
Excellent communication skills, with the ability to present findings to cross-functional partners and senior management
