Merchandise Internship for the 2026 PGA Championship. This basic timeline should give you an idea of the many roles you will play. From your work with inventory processes, to your time in The PGA Shops working with volunteers and some of the leading golf merchandise and apparel manufacturers, you will leave this experience with a greater understanding of the overall operations of a major championship.
Job Responsibility:
Assist in receiving all merchandise for The PGA Shops
Receive product cartons
Conduct inventory processes
Organize received products into storage trailers
Assist with set-up and visual displays within The PGA Shops
Work with national vendor representatives to move products into the store
Organize back stock
Aesthetically merchandise the sales floor
Work with visuals consultant and Legends Staff to create and apply visuals throughout the Shops
Assist in the final preparations of the merchandise facilities
Create signage
Organize the point-of-sale stations
Train volunteers
Assist our full-time merchandise staff in running The PGA Shops throughout the PGA Championship event week (May 8 - 17)
Direct over 700 volunteers in various areas of the merchandise operations
Assist vendors with product related tasks
Provide customer service to patrons
Replenish back stock
Other duties assigned
Assist with the breakdown of the merchandise operations
Assist with post-event sales
Ending inventory procedures
Load out processes
Requirements:
All applicants must be at least 18 years of age
High school diploma or equivalent. Some college preferred.
Must be friendly, self-motivated, and love meeting new people in an exciting event setting
Willingness and drive to exceed guest expectations
Must be able to work in a fast-paced and continuously changing environment
Must maintain regular and consistent attendance and punctuality, with or without reasonable accommodation
Ability to stand, walk, bend and move throughout the venue for extended periods of time
Ability to transport up to 30 lbs on a continuous basis
Basic math skills
ability to accurately count change and balance bank
Ability to work independently or in a team during set up and to get tasks done efficiently
Ability to communicate effectively with supervisor and guests
Ability to build and maintain effective working relationships with team members along with willingness to set and maintain high standards of performance
Must be flexible to work extended hours including late nights, weekends and holidays
Practice safe work habits, follow all safety policies and procedures and regulations including but not limited to Legends’ COVID Preparedness Plan and Standard Operating Procedures, complete company-wide safety training and any additional job specific safety training.
