The MEP SME will be part of the Core Construction Management team responsible for providing end-to-end Mechanical, Electrical, and Plumbing (MEP) technical expertise across the life cycle of Design & Build projects. The role will encompass solutioning during the bid stage, technical evaluation in pre-construction, design validation and troubleshooting during execution, and ensuring complete compliance and documentation through project close-out. The SME will support multiple projects concurrently and act as a technical resource for cross-functional knowledge sharing within PDS.
Job Responsibility:
Bid Stage – MEP Solutioning: Collaborate with pursuit teams to provide MEP strategy, solutioning and preliminary design inputs for potential projects
Support estimation teams with MEP scope, design parameters, and technical risk assessment during bidding
Pre-Construction Stage: Lead design and cost reviews for proposed MEP systems to ensure compliance with client requirements, statutory norms, sustainability goals, and budget constraints
Conduct market coverage for MEP vendors and contractors, prepare technical ratings for shortlisting
Evaluate and review technical bids from contractors and suppliers

Construction Stage: Validate working designs against approved drawings and specifications
Troubleshoot MEP-related issues and provide timely resolution to RFIs (Requests for Information)
Propose and implement value engineering strategies without compromising quality or compliance
Monitor and track MEP work progress across multiple projects
ensure timely completion and quality adherence
Coordinate Testing & Commissioning (T&C) activities and verify system performance prior to handover
Close-Out Stage: Review and approve final MEP documentation including test reports, O&M manuals, as-built drawings, warranties, and statutory clearances
Ensure smooth handover of MEP systems to facility management teams
Cross-Functional & Knowledge Sharing: Drive MEP technical awareness across project managers and design teams
Share best practices, technical trends, and regulatory updates with wider PDS teams
Support in developing internal MEP process guidelines and checklists
Requirements:
BE (Bachelor of Engineering) in Electrical or Mechanical
Minimum 10 years in MEP design, engineering, and/or project management roles, with significant experience in end-to-end project life cycle for commercial / industrial / mixed-use developments
Strong knowledge of Indian & international building codes, standards, and statutory requirements
Proven ability to evaluate and manage MEP contractors and vendors
Exposure to LEED, green building, and energy-efficient design preferred
Technical depth across MEP disciplines (HVAC, electrical systems, plumbing, fire protection, ELV systems)
Analytical skills for design and cost evaluation
Strong vendor coordination and negotiation abilities
Problem-solving mindset with ability to work in cross-functional teams
Excellent communication and documentation skills
Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously
