We are currently seeking a seasoned MEP Quantity Surveyor to join one of our most prestigious clients. The successful candidate will be responsible for managing all aspects of cost control and financial planning related to building projects. Job Responsibility:
Prepare and analyse cost estimates, budgets, and financial reports for MEP projects
Be familiar with both JCT and NEC contracts
Monitor project expenditure and ensure costs are controlled effectively throughout the project life cycle
Conduct regular site visits to assess progress and verify that work aligns with budget forecasts
Liaise with clients, contractors, and suppliers to negotiate costs and secure favourable terms
Maintain comprehensive records of all financial transactions related to each project
Identify potential cost overruns early and recommend corrective actions to mitigate financial risks
Assist in the preparation of tender documents and evaluate bids from subcontractors and suppliers
Ensure compliance with contractual obligations and relevant legal regulations concerning financial matters
Requirements:
Proven experience as a Quantity Surveyor or in a similar role within the MEP industry (contracting or consulting)
Strong knowledge of cost control techniques, budgeting, and financial management
Familiarity with construction contracts, procurement processes, and legal standards
Excellent organisational skills with the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously
Proficient in industry-standard software programmes
Strong communication skills, capable of negotiating effectively with diverse stakeholders
A recognised qualification in Quantity Surveying or Commercial Management is preferred
