The MEP Construction Manager is responsible for overseeing the planning, coordination, installation, and commissioning of all Mechanical, Electrical, and Plumbing (MEP) systems on large-scale, mission-critical construction projects. This role has a strong emphasis on electrical systems and is responsible for ensuring MEP work is executed safely, on schedule, within budget, and in compliance with contract documents, applicable codes, and project requirements. The ideal candidate brings deep experience supporting critical power environments and commissioning activities.
Job Responsibility:
Manage MEP construction activities from preconstruction through commissioning and turnover
Coordinate MEP scope with construction teams, design partners, vendors, and subcontractors
Develop and manage MEP construction schedules, phasing plans, and sequencing
Monitor budgets, procurement activities, change management, and cost controls related to MEP systems
Lead coordination and oversight of electrical systems installation
Ensure proper integration of electrical systems with mechanical and building infrastructure
Oversee testing, commissioning, and integrated systems testing activities
Enforce quality control procedures and commissioning requirements
Ensure compliance with NEC, NFPA, and applicable local codes
Support walkthroughs, inspections, and final acceptance activities
Review and manage submittals, RFIs, shop drawings, and construction method documentation
Serve as the primary MEP point of contact for project stakeholders
Lead MEP coordination meetings and resolve technical conflicts
Provide regular reporting on progress and proactively communicate risks or concerns
Requirements:
8+ years of experience in MEP construction management
Strong background in electrical systems supporting mission-critical or complex facilities
Proven experience delivering critical infrastructure or technically complex construction projects
Experience independently managing inspections, documentation, commissioning, and turnover processes for MEP systems
US Citizen, GC Holders or Authorized to Work in the U.S.
Ability to maintain daily on-site presence at active construction sites
Capable of performing extensive site walks for multiple hours per day
Ability to climb ladders, scaffolding, and access elevated work areas
Comfortable conducting detailed inspections involving small components and confined areas
Ability to work extended hours as project demands require
