Job Description:

JLL is seeking a Commissioning Engineer to provide reliable, efficient support to our Commissioning & Building Analytics (CBA) team. You'll work with diverse internal and external stakeholders while exercising independent judgment to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment. The ideal candidate will be detail-oriented with strong organizational skills and a collaborative mindset, directly supporting JLL's commitment to delivering high-quality commissioning services that ensure optimal building performance.

Job Responsibility:

  • Execute commissioning processes according to ASHRAE, CSA, and LEED requirements
  • Conduct inspections and testing of mechanical, plumbing, electrical, fire protection, and control systems
  • Manage commissioning projects through design, pre-construction, construction, and post-construction phases
  • Develop comprehensive commissioning plans, specifications, and test scripts
  • Perform field-based activities including site visits and directing functional tests
  • Review design drawings, specifications, and submittals for commissioning compliance
  • Lead commissioning meetings and maintain detailed issue logs

Requirements:

  • University technical degree (Engineering degree preferred)
  • LEED AP certification
  • Minimum 10 years of relevant mechanical engineering/field-testing experience
  • Minimum 5 years in building commissioning
  • Experience with mechanical testing equipment and data analysis
  • Knowledge of HVAC&R systems, building management systems, and fire protection
  • Proficiency in MS Project, Word, and Excel

Nice to have:

  • Professional Engineer/PE or PMP designation
  • CEM, CBCP, and/or CPMP designations
  • Master Mechanic License
  • Experience with electrical testing equipment
  • Background in consultancy or owner organization
  • Facility Management experience
  • Operating engineer experience in data centers or mission-critical facilities

  • Develop and implement commissioning plans, including preparation and review of the Owner’s Project Requirements (OPR), verification of the Basis of Design (BOD), participation in design and construction submittal reviews, and development of commissioning specifications, construction verification checklists, and functional performance testing protocols
