As our Mental Health Tech, you will be vital support for Behavioral Health's front and back office functions, assisting psychiatrists, patients, and the care management team. You'll ensure smooth operations, quality medication management, and clinical problem-solving. Every day you will provide basic medication triage, support services, and take vital signs for behavioral health patients. You'll manage front office reception, patient registration, insurance/copay processing, and telephones, while also handling back office tasks like refill requests, injections, and accurate EHR documentation. To be successful, you need strong multitasking, meticulous attention to detail, and a rapid ability to learn complex information accurately. Exceptional customer service, calm under pressure, EHR proficiency, and strict confidentiality are essential, along with flexibility to float.
Job Responsibility
Provide basic medication triage, support services, and take vital signs for behavioral health patients
Manage front office reception, patient registration, insurance/copay processing, and telephones
Handle back office tasks like refill requests, injections, and accurate EHR documentation
Assists patients through a trauma informed care atmosphere in the development of individuality and appropriate methods of self-expression
Assists the patients in acknowledging and accepting responsibility for psychological and behavioral patterns
Provides appropriate emergency care and maintains a safe environment
Provides trauma informed care and supervision to patients needing physical restraints or seclusion
Assists the patient in dealing with relationship difficulties, supports and teaches appropriate socializations skills
Facilitates various supportive, classroom educational and psych-educational activities
Communicates effectively utilizing both verbal and writing methods within a diverse and multicultural environment
Requirements
High School Graduate and with at least 1 year of experience in mental health
Basic Life Support - CPR
Basic Life Support Instructor
First Aid
Nice to have
Bachelors Other in Human Service field or one year experience in the Behavioral Health field is preferred
Graduate of a Psychiatric Assistant and Nurse Aide training program
