Master's or doctoral degree in Nursing from a regionally accredited college or university
Unencumbered professional nursing license in MO
At least two years professional experience within last five years in the area of instruction as a registered nurse
Live within a reasonable proximity of Columbia, MO
Teaching or precepting experience is preferred but not required

Job Responsibility

Implements the College's philosophy, curriculum, program outcomes, and course objectives through clinical teaching, and service
Assumes responsibility for all autonomous aspects of individual teaching loads
Plans clinical experiences and provides direct supervision and evaluation of nursing students
Evaluates and provides documented feedback to student on level of performance
Is available for remediation of students as required
Orients and maintains current knowledge related to agency/clinical policies
Develops and posts written clinical assignments
Corrects and returns assignments in a timely manner
Contributes to ongoing development, implementation, and evaluation of programs
May teach didactic course content under supervision

Job Responsibility

Manage front office reception, patient registration, insurance/copay processing, and telephones
Handle back office tasks like refill requests, injections, and accurate EHR documentation
Assist patients through a trauma informed care atmosphere
Assist patients in acknowledging and accepting responsibility for psychological and behavioral patterns
Provide appropriate emergency care and maintain a safe environment
Perform basic nursing tasks (i.e. vital signs, blood pressure, specimen collection, accu checks, weighing and assisting with ADL)
Assist the nurse in carrying out orders within scope of practice
Provide trauma informed care and supervision to patients needing physical restraints or seclusion
Assist the patient in dealing with relationship difficulties, supports and teaches appropriate socializations skills
