Job Description:

We’re looking for upbeat, engaging support workers to join a mixed-gender team working with a young person on a 2:1 basis with mild learning disabilities, schizophrenic personality disorder, ADHD, mental health needs and physically challenging behaviours in their own home in Chesterfield. They enjoy taking time out to go camping in the woods, are into fitness, love music and going out to local pubs.

Job Responsibility:

  • Provide support with daily living tasks as needed, while promoting independence
  • Assist with financial management
  • Support mental health needs and respond appropriately to any challenging behaviours
  • Work on a 2:1 basis with a young person in their own home

Requirements:

  • Resilient, calm, and consistent
  • Non-judgemental and supportive in mentoring someone who may make unwise decisions
  • Passionate about supporting people to build healthy routines and boundaries
  • Able to de-escalate situations with empathy and confidence
  • Interested in music, fitness, or social activities
  • Experience working with people with mental health diagnoses, especially personality disorders
  • Experience supporting individuals with learning disabilities
  • Experience in guiding someone with risky or impulsive behaviours
