Job Responsibility:

  • Provide one-on-one support to children and young people with autism, learning disabilities, and mental health conditions
  • Engage in activities designed to improve the social, emotional, and developmental well-being of the young people
  • Offer respite care to families, providing them with much-needed support and relief
  • Work with families to ensure their children's needs are being met in a compassionate, safe environment
  • Provide support on a flexible basis, with shifts ranging from 1-3 service users per day and some short calls (some calls could be 3-4 hours)
  • Document and report on the progress and needs of the individuals in your care, ensuring all safeguarding guidelines are followed

Requirements:

  • Experience working with children or young people with learning disabilities, autism, or mental health conditions is essential
  • Must have a full driving license and be able to travel across the Cumbria area
  • PEG Feeding trained or willing to undergo training with us
  • Strong communication skills and the ability to build positive relationships with children, families, and the wider support network
  • The ability to work independently and as part of a team, managing different caseloads efficiently
  • A genuine passion for improving the lives of young people and their families
  • Evening availability to support families and service users during those times
  • Right to work in the UK with no working time restrictions
  • No sponsorships provided
  • For Clinical Roles (HCA): Minimum of 6 months of recent UK experience in the NHS or Private Hospital setting
  • An Enhanced DBS registered on the update service
  • A full record of immunizations (BCG, MMR, Hepatitis-B)
  • Training required- BILD certified PMVA Course and Classroom Mandatory Training
