We work closely with local authorities, healthcare professionals, and families to provide personalised care across supported living and complex mental health services. This role has a strong focus on mental health support. You may be supporting individuals with Emotionally Unstable Personality Disorder (EUPD), Non-Epileptic Attack Disorder, Psychosis, Schizophrenia, Bipolar disorder and other complex needs. Your role will involve providing consistent, emotionally attuned support, helping those we support to manage distress, regulate emotions, and maintain their wellbeing in a safe, structured, and compassionate way. You will work in line with positive behaviour support, trauma informed practice, and person centred care plans to promote stability, independence, and quality of life.
Job Responsibility:
Providing mental health support: Offer consistent emotional support, reassurance, and structure to help manage distress, anxiety, and emotional dysregulation
Supporting independent living: Encourage and assist with daily living skills such as meal preparation, budgeting, personal care, and routines
Medication support: Administer medication in line with care plans and medication protocols
Positive behaviour support: Follow PBS strategies and risk management plans to maintain safety and promote wellbeing
Maintaining a safe home environment: Support the individual to keep their home clean, organised, and accessible
Community engagement: Encourage and support access to the community, social activities, appointments, and hobbies
Promoting healthy relationships: Support positive connections with family, professionals, and the wider community
Supporting outside the home: Accompany the individual to appointments, hospital visits, holidays, or other required outings
Person-centred care: Respect individual choices, preferences, and dignity at all times
Reporting and communication: Provide regular updates to the Service Manager and ensure care plans and risk assessments are followed accurately
Requirements:
A caring, patient, and compassionate approach, particularly in supporting mental health needs
Strong communication and emotional awareness skills
Experience in mental health or complex care (desirable)
Understanding of person centred and trauma informed care
Ability to work both independently and as part of a supportive team
Flexibility to support individuals in and outside of the home
NVQ Level 2 or 3 in Health & Social Care (desirable)
Full UK driving licence preffered
