Amber Lodge is a specialist CAMHS day unit providing therapeutic care for up to eight children and young people with complex mental health needs. We're looking for a Clinical Nurse to deliver high-quality, compassionate care within our supportive, multi-disciplinary team. You'll help create a safe, structured, and nurturing environment that supports young people and their families through recovery and development.
Job Responsibility:
Build compassionate, therapeutic relationships with children and young people, supporting them through emotional distress and helping them feel safe
Work as part of a multidisciplinary team to deliver high-quality care, including routine observations, risk reporting and supporting care plans
Use de-escalation skills to support young people during challenging moments (full training provided)
Act as an advocate for young people and their families, ensuring their voices are heard in care planning
Requirements:
NVQ level 3 in healthcare or equivalent experience
Health care support worker certificate - Children's and Young people's mental health in patient setting
Commitment to completing physical containment/de-escalation training
To have experience of working in a clinical environment either in a hospital or social care environment
Experience of working in a patient facing environment
Knowledge of mental health issues
Basic IT skills which include competency at using Word and e-mail
Ability to work with children, young people, their families and carers
Ability to work in a multidisciplinary team
Ability to show initiative and take on own responsibility and work independently
Ability to communicate effectively both in writing and verbally
Ability to prioritise workload and own time
Attention to detail and ability to record accurate notes
Relationship building / Interpersonal skills
Willingness to work flexibly in approach and working hours/pattern
Display a non-judgmental attitude towards children/family/carers/colleagues
Respectful attitude for patients and colleagues
Ability to accept instructions and supervision and undertake delegated tasks
