Make a Real Difference in Mental Health Care. IBC Healthcare is looking for a passionate and experienced Mental Health Specialist to join our growing Theraputic Team. This is an exciting opportunity to play a key role in improving the mental health outcomes of the people we support across our supported living and residential services. Working hybrid between home and our services across our services, you will use your specialist knowledge to provide clinical assessments, therapeutic interventions, and professional guidance to multidisciplinary teams supporting individuals with complex mental health needs. Job Responsibility:
Conduct comprehensive mental health assessments, including biopsychosocial and risk assessments
Develop evidence-based care plans alongside individuals, carers, and multidisciplinary teams
Coordinate care for individuals with complex mental health needs
Monitor progress, review interventions, and adapt care plans accordingly
Deliver structured, evidence-based interventions such as CBT-informed approaches, psychosocial interventions, and trauma-informed care
Provide 1:1 therapeutic support where required
Support early intervention strategies for emerging mental health needs
Manage a caseload of individuals with complex presentations
Develop and facilitate psychoeducational workshops and wellbeing programmes
Conduct Mental Capacity Assessments where appropriate
Complete risk assessments and ongoing risk formulation
Develop and implement risk management and crisis prevention plans
Identify safeguarding concerns and follow local safeguarding procedures
Work closely with community services to support safe care delivery
Act as a key member of the multidisciplinary team (MDT) contributing to case discussions and reviews
Liaise with GPs, social care teams, community mental health services, inpatient teams, and third sector organisations
Support smooth transitions between services and levels of care
Provide specialist advice and consultation to support workers and colleagues
Support the development of staff knowledge in mental health care
Deliver training sessions, reflective practice, and workshops for staff teams
Contribute to service development, audits, and quality improvement initiatives
Maintain accurate and compliant clinical records
Ensure practice aligns with relevant frameworks including the Mental Health Act, Mental Capacity Act, and GDPR
Requirements:
A relevant qualification and/or significant experience in mental health, psychology, counselling, nursing, social work, or a related field
Professional registration with a recognised body (HCPC, NMC, Social Work England, BACP or UKCP) where applicable
Experience working within supported living, residential care, community mental health, or similar settings
Experience supporting individuals with complex mental health needs, including mood disorders, personality disorders, and thought disorders
Knowledge of risk management, safeguarding, and trauma-informed approaches
Strong assessment, formulation, and intervention skills
Experience supporting individuals presenting with self-injury and behaviours associated with violence or aggression
Excellent communication, teamwork, and interpersonal skills
A full UK driving licence and willingness to travel across our services
