Requirements

Professional qualification to undergraduate level 6 in a relevant field or equivalent (e.g., Mental health / Counselling)
Professional registration / membership that meets the Department for Education (DfE) qualification and professional membership requirements (See Band 4 Specialist Mentor, Mental Health)
Proactive in identifying initiatives and committed to embedding them into the student experience
Able to identify and set clear objectives and is confident in leading own work and collaborating with others to develop service provision
Able to multi-task, effectively manage time and a varied and demanding workload

Job Responsibility

Work with students with disabilities, in particular students with mental health conditions and autism to provide advice and guidance and identification of reasonable adjustments
Support students with emerging or enduring mental health conditions that may be impacting study or academic progression
Work with staff across the University to meet student needs and effectively implement reasonable adjustments
Contribute to safeguarding and protecting students through direct intervention, signposting, or referring to specialist services
