Job Description:

Role: Mental Health Social worker. Teams: Forensics. Council: Manchester City Council. Average caseloads: 20/25 at most but once fully staffed around 15 cases. Job based at Cheetham hill base but travel across the country. Hybrid working: 3 days in the office, 2 at home.

Job Responsibility:

  • Assessments from strength based
  • MCA, BIA processes
  • Support people who have been admitted under MHA
  • Wardrounds, hospitals, discharge pathway, conditional discharge - social supervisions
  • Risk assessments
  • Working with police under MAPA
  • Work with Health colleagues
  • Work with ICB joint packages of care
  • Accommodation and support services
  • Support people in hospital and sectioned or in prison or on their way out of prison

Requirements:

  • Mental health awareness or experience
  • Court reports or report writing
  • Risk management and evidence basing
  • Criminal justice and learning disability
  • Ideally a driver
  • BA in social work
