Job Description

Mental Health Nurse – Neurodevelopmental Assessment Service. Location: Chichester – Hybrid working considered. Salary: £37,500 - £42,000 plus excellent benefits package. Hours: Full-time / Part-time considered, minimum of 3 days. KT Healthcare is a family-owned organisation personal experience of Autism and ADHD. Our people are at the heart of everything we do, and we're looking for an experienced Registered Mental Health Nurse (RMN) to join our growing multidisciplinary team.

Job Responsibility

  • Screening referrals and assessing suitability for neurodevelopmental assessment pathways
  • Conducting comprehensive mental health and risk assessments for children, young people and adults where indicated
  • Identifying safeguarding concerns, clinical risks and co-existing mental health conditions
  • Supporting safe clinical decision-making throughout the ADHD and Autism assessment process
  • Liaising with GPs, referrers and other healthcare professionals to obtain additional clinical information
  • Escalating high-risk cases and referring appropriately to crisis or secondary mental health services when required
  • Maintaining accurate, timely and confidential electronic patient records
  • Providing guidance and support to colleagues regarding mental health risk and safeguarding
  • Contributing to service development, audits, quality improvement initiatives and pathway enhancement
  • Participating in clinical supervision, reflective practice and multidisciplinary team discussions

Requirements

  • Current NMC registration as a Registered Mental Health Nurse (RMN)
  • Experience undertaking mental health and risk assessments
  • Excellent safeguarding knowledge and clinical judgement
  • Strong communication and relationship-building skills
  • Excellent organisational skills with the ability to manage competing priorities
  • Strong clinical documentation and report-writing skills
  • An understanding of neurodevelopmental conditions, presentations and assessment pathways

Nice to have

  • Experience within ADHD, Autism or wider neurodevelopmental services
  • Knowledge of NICE guidance relating to neurodevelopmental conditions
  • Experience identifying and managing co-occurring mental health conditions
  • Training or experience in CBT, talking therapies or other psychological interventions
  • Experience working within NHS Right to Choose pathways or similar assessment services
