Job Responsibility:
Conducting comprehensive nursing assessments upon admission and on an ongoing basis
Developing, implementing, and evaluating individualised care plans in collaboration with the client and multidisciplinary team
Administering and monitoring medications and other therapeutic interventions
Actively managing the therapeutic milieu of the ward to ensure patient safety and promote recovery
Expertly managing patient acuity, utilising de-escalation techniques, and responding effectively to clinical emergencies
Providing education and support to clients and their families/carers
Driving the discharge planning process to ensure a safe and seamless transition back to the community
Requirements:
Tertiary qualifications in Nursing and current AHPRA registration
A post-graduate qualification in Mental Health (or a genuine willingness to enrol)
Demonstrated clinical experience within an acute in-patient mental health setting is highly desirable
Proven skills in managing acute psychiatric symptoms, detainment procedures, and robust clinical monitoring
Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build therapeutic rapport with clients
The confidence to make sound clinical judgments and act decisively in a busy ward environment
A calm, composed, and resilient approach to challenging situations
