Job Responsibility:

  • Conducting comprehensive nursing assessments upon admission and on an ongoing basis
  • Developing, implementing, and evaluating individualised care plans in collaboration with the client and multidisciplinary team
  • Administering and monitoring medications and other therapeutic interventions
  • Actively managing the therapeutic milieu of the ward to ensure patient safety and promote recovery
  • Expertly managing patient acuity, utilising de-escalation techniques, and responding effectively to clinical emergencies
  • Providing education and support to clients and their families/carers
  • Driving the discharge planning process to ensure a safe and seamless transition back to the community

Requirements:

  • Tertiary qualifications in Nursing and current AHPRA registration
  • A post-graduate qualification in Mental Health (or a genuine willingness to enrol)
  • Demonstrated clinical experience within an acute in-patient mental health setting is highly desirable
  • Proven skills in managing acute psychiatric symptoms, detainment procedures, and robust clinical monitoring
  • Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build therapeutic rapport with clients
  • The confidence to make sound clinical judgments and act decisively in a busy ward environment
  • A calm, composed, and resilient approach to challenging situations
  • A valid National Police Certificate
  • A Working with Children Check (WWCC)
  • An NDIS Worker Screening Check
  • A current Driver's Licence
  • Up-to-date immunisation and vaccination records
