Reporting to the Clinical Lead, the Mental Health Leave and Accommodations (MHLA) Clinician plays a critical role in evaluating mental health-related leave and accommodation requests and providing clinically sound, unbiased recommendations. This is a newly established function, offering the opportunity to help shape standards, workflows, and best practices from the ground up.
Job Responsibility:
Perform objective mental health evaluations to assess symptomatology and functional impairment and determine the appropriateness of leave and workplace accommodations
Develop and document concise, professional evaluation summaries that clearly articulate clinical rationale, functional findings, and recommendations
Offer appropriate, ethical treatment plan recommendations and care pathways aligned with the member’s clinical needs and workplace considerations
Identify trends or recurring clinical themes related to leave and accommodation requests and provide feedback to improve evaluation quality, consistency, and member experience
Maintain accurate, timely, and compliant clinical documentation across systems while upholding all privacy, confidentiality, and regulatory requirements
Partner with internal teams, treating providers, and external stakeholders to support evaluations and deliver a coordinated, seamless experience for members navigating leave and accommodations
Requirements:
Master’s degree in Psychology, Social Work, Counseling, Marriage and Family Therapy, or a related mental health field
Unrestricted license to practice psychotherapy (e.g., LCSW, LMFT, LPC, or equivalent) in good standing
Ability to work a full 40 hour work week
Comfortable with technology and telehealth competent
Excellent written communication skills
High ethical standards and commitment to impartiality, objectivity, and member-centered care
Ability to work independently while collaborating effectively within a multidisciplinary, remote team
Motivation to provide a thoughtful, high-quality experience for members during sensitive and complex situations
Nice to have:
Clinical experience conducting mental health assessments, with a strong preference for experience in disability, leave of absence, workplace accommodations, or occupational mental health
Willingness to be cross-licensed in other states
