Job Description

We are seeking Mental Health and Learning Disability Nurses to provide care for Children requiring 2:1 care with high level needs and challenging behaviour. This is an opportunity to create a stable environment for children who struggle to regulate, require consistency and routine. Due to previous breakdowns in care and instability within the family home, these children regularly display challenging behaviour.

Job Responsibility

  • Provide high-quality care to children
  • Be proactive with managing behaviour & de-escalation
  • Ability to communicate clearly & effectively through verbal & written means
  • Strong interpersonal skills, and the ability to work within a small team
  • Maintain clear and accurate care observation records
  • Must be able to maintain a high level of care
  • Must be trained in PMVA, or Control & restraint

Requirements

  • At least a 1.5 years’ experience working as a Mental Health Nurse or Learning disability Nurse (ideally a background working with Children and managing challenging behaviour)
  • Proven experience in Mental Health Care, with the ability to provide both a clinical and holistic approach
  • Ability to work within a small team and collaborate effectively with the Airmid care team
  • Compassionate, empathetic approach to patient-focused care
