The Illinois Department of Corrections is seeking a highly qualified and motivated professional to serve as the Mental Health Compliance Administrator. This leadership position is responsible for overseeing compliance, developing and implementing policies, and ensuring adherence to established standards of care, ethics, and regulatory requirements across the agency’s mental health programs. The ideal candidate will bring strong administrative experience, in-depth knowledge of mental health systems, and the ability to advise executive leadership while serving as a key spokesperson for the Department. Job Responsibility:
Serves as the Mental Health Compliance Administrator and a principal policy administrator
Develops, implements, and monitors policies and procedures related to established standards of care, ethics, and licensing requirements for mental health staff
Serves as a spokesperson for IDOC, speaking authoritatively on behalf of the Department, Director, Assistant Director, and Chief Compliance Officer
Advises management on the agency’s compliance with laws and regulations through detailed reports
Performs other duties as required or assigned, which are reasonably within the scope of duties enumerated above
Requirements:
Requires knowledge, skill, and mental development equivalent to completion of four (4) years college with course work in psychology, social work, public health, or a health care related field
Requires four (4) years of progressively responsible administrative experience evaluating mental health care programs
Requires ability to travel in the performance of duties, with overnight stays as appropriate
Requires appropriate, valid driver’s license
Requires the ability to be on-call
Requires the use of agency-supplied technology
Requires ability to pass the IDOC/IDJJ background check
Requires ability to pass a drug screen
Required to utilize digital technology, tools, platforms, and processes in managing and supporting various digital enhancements for greater efficiency, productivity, and digital transformation efforts within the department

Nice to have:
Prefers at least four (4) years of experience achieving Joint Commission Accreditation in a mental health setting
Prefers at least four (4) years of experience with the operations and supervision of a residential treatment unit
Prefers at least four (4) years of experience with the operations and supervision of a behavioral management unit
Prefers thorough knowledge of federal, State and local laws, rules, and regulations governing mental health care and delivery systems
