Mental Health Clinician

• Assessing patients in all housing units on a routine basis which includes restricted housing and provide on-going individual therapy for patients
• assessing patients at risk for suicide, self-harm or harm to others
• Providing crisis intervention as needed
• Participating in all required clinical meetings
• Completing all clinical documentation in the electronic medical record in a timely manner
• Conducting assessments of patients in all housing units and outside facilities if necessary
• Collaborating with staff regarding the needs or limitations of the mentally ill population
• Providing training on a weekly basis to correctional staff on mental illness and suicide prevention
• Assisting patients with discharge planning
• Performing other work as assigned by the Director of Behavioral Health or Health Service Administrator
• Performing all other duties necessary for the good of the MSO and that will assure successful implementation of the mental health program

• Master’s Degree
• Post-graduate experience is preferred
• Must have one of the following licenses: LMHC, LCSW or LICSW
• Ability to work independently in a fast-paced environment and execute close attention to detail
• Strong written, communication, organizational, problem-solving and time-management skills
• Ability to maintain confidential, comprehensive and cohesive records
