Job Description

Empower Young Lives: Make a Difference at Compassionate Care Group! Are you passionate about supporting children and young people with complex mental health needs? Join our thriving care provider, Compassionate Care Group, as a Mental Health Support Worker – Complex Children, in Knowsley, and make a real impact in a young person's life. We have Full-Time positions available, on a rolling rota, on nights or days, at £16.25 per hour. Little bit about the company: Compassionate Care is a leading provider of diverse services throughout the UK, dedicated to supporting individuals with complex needs, learning disabilities, autism, and mental health conditions. Our comprehensive services encompass supported living, residential children's services, emergency accommodation, and specialised step-down mental health services. At Compassionate Care, our mission is to instigate profound and enduring transformations in the lives of both adults and children. We empower those under our care to embrace independence and lead fulfilling lives, always upholding principles of dignity, autonomy, and self-worth. Driven by a commitment to excellence, we aspire to emerge as the most trusted and esteemed name in the care sector. We are resolute in our dedication to delivering reliable, compassionate support while setting unparalleled standards of service quality in the UK. Join us at Compassionate Care and be a part of a team that is passionate about making a positive impact on the lives of those we serve. We are supporting a young person in Knowsley through a highly individualised package of care within a residential children's home, providing a safe, therapeutic and nurturing environment to promote emotional wellbeing, stability and positive outcomes. Overview of the role: Work directly with a child presenting with complex mental health needs, including Emotionally Unstable Personality Disorder (EUPD), emotional dysregulation, trauma-related behaviours and complex behavioural presentations. Build trusting therapeutic relationships through consistency, empathy, patience and positive role modelling. Support the young person to develop emotional regulation, coping strategies, resilience and independence whilst maintaining clear professional boundaries. Respond calmly and confidently during periods of distress, using de-escalation techniques and trauma-informed approaches to support positive outcomes. Encourage engagement in education, hobbies, community activities and daily routines that promote wellbeing and recovery. Work collaboratively with families, social workers, CAMHS, education providers and other professionals to deliver person-centred support. Tailor your approach to the young person's individual needs, strengths and lived experiences while promoting equality, diversity and inclusion. Think on your feet and solve problems creatively to overcome challenges. Empower and advocate for the child at every opportunity, ensuring their voice is always heard. Our ideal candidate: Dynamic, resilient and passionate about improving the lives of children with complex mental health needs. Previous experience supporting children or young people with mental health conditions, trauma, emotional dysregulation, EUPD or complex behaviours is highly desirable. Experience within residential care, CAMHS, mental health, secure services or supported living would be advantageous. Excellent English language skills are essential due to the communication and emotional support required within the role. Due to the complexities of the role, you will be 21 years of age or over. A calm, patient and emotionally resilient individual with excellent communication and active listening skills. Relevant Health & Social Care qualifications are desirable; however, full training and ongoing development will be provided. A genuine passion for supporting children through therapeutic, trauma-informed care. Willingness to work a fixed rota, including days, nights and weekends. You must be able to drive, and a Full Clean UK Driving Licence is essential. Why Compassionate Care Group? Competitive Pay: Earn £16.25 per hour. Up to 28 days annual leave. Comprehensive Benefits: DBS check, career development, funded Care Certificate, employee assistance programme, referral bonus, pension scheme, social events, and more. Meaningful Work: Make a genuine difference to the life of a child with complex mental health needs. Positive Environment: Join our supportive, values-driven and family-oriented team. Growth Opportunities: Develop specialist skills in therapeutic and trauma-informed care through structured training and career progression. We offer a rewarding career opportunity to become a key part of a specialist team supporting a child with complex mental health needs. If you are compassionate, resilient and committed to helping young people overcome adversity and achieve positive outcomes, we'd love to hear from you.
