Support and inform mental health carers, family and kin by ensuring they understand their rights, responsibilities, and available resources under legislation, policies, and procedures
Collaborate with mental health carers, family members and kin to problem-solve, provide guidance, and connect them with appropriate services, while maintaining accurate records and reports of engagement outcomes
Advocate for mental health carers, family members and kin within the mental health system, representing their needs and negotiating with other stakeholders and organisations to ensure their voices are heard
Facilitate education, training and support through workshops and programs that build carer advocacy skills, and strengthen awareness for stakeholders on carer rights and systemic supports
Requirements:
Tertiary qualifications in a relevant discipline (e.g. social work, psychology, counselling, nursing)
Current Driver’s license
Proof of Australian Working Rights
National Police Clearance (within 6 months)
First Aid Certificate
Working with Children Card
