Our client, a respected UK professional membership organisation, is seeking a Membership Officer to join their London-based team. This role offers an excellent opportunity for a highly organised professional with strong administrative and member-focused experience to support the delivery of professional membership services and standards. Working within the Membership team, the successful candidate will play an important role in supporting membership processes, maintaining accurate records, and assisting with professional registration activities and committee coordination.
Job Responsibility:
Support membership operations including CRM updates, onboarding, renewals, retention initiatives, and lapsed member campaigns
Provide administrative support to the Membership Committee
Coordinate professional registration processes including reviewing membership and registration applications, preparing and circulating applications for committee review, attending committee meetings, recording recommendations, and producing minutes, issuing election letters and coordinating next steps in the registration process, organising Professional Review Interviews with branches and international assessors, managing and maintaining the volunteer interviewer database, submitting approved applications to the relevant external registration body, managing Individual Case Procedure (ICP) documentation where applicable, communicating with applicants throughout each stage of the process, issuing membership and registration fee notifications, preparing membership certificates, supporting website updates related to membership processes
Support the administration of members’ Continuing Professional Development (CPD) submissions and annual audit processes
Provide support and guidance to volunteer CPD auditors
Liaise with assessors, volunteers, and external bodies to ensure training records and volunteer responsibilities remain up to date
Requirements:
Previous administrative and/or customer service experience
Excellent organisational skills with strong attention to detail and record keeping
Ability to manage email enquiries and prioritise tasks effectively
Confident in supporting and guiding both new and existing members
Strong IT skills including CRM systems, CMS platforms, Microsoft 365, and data management
Excellent written and verbal communication skills with the ability to prepare reports and liaise with stakeholders
Confident and professional when speaking with members over the phone
Nice to have:
Familiarity with UK professional registration frameworks (e.g. CEng, IEng, EngTech)
Knowledge of accreditation processes within professional or engineering education environments
