Job Description:

A respected charitable organisation within the heritage, culture and learning sector is seeking a Membership Officer to lead the growth, development and stewardship of its established membership community. This is a fantastic opportunity for someone skilled in membership management, engagement and CRM systems who enjoys working in a values‑led environment. The Membership Officer will play a pivotal role in strengthening and expanding the organisation’s membership base, helping deliver on ambitious growth targets over the next five years. With a strong focus on acquisition, retention, customer service, reporting and on‑site conversion, you will ensure members receive exceptional service across all touchpoints.

Job Responsibility:

  • Process all membership sales, renewals and Gift Aid claims using Raiser’s Edge NXT
  • Maintain accurate, GDPR‑compliant membership data and reporting
  • Support on‑site membership recruitment, including training front‑of‑house teams
  • Develop strategies to increase membership acquisition and retention
  • Lead day‑to‑day communications with members, including newsletters and updates
  • Oversee sections of the website relating to membership and user journeys
  • Collaborate on marketing campaigns and member engagement initiatives
  • Support member events and stewarding activities
  • Work alongside the development team to support long‑term giving opportunities

Requirements:

  • Membership experience preferably within charity, heritage, culture or arts sectors
  • Substantial CRM experience
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Data protection and Gift Aid knowledge
  • Strong organisational and supplier-management skills
  • Confident working with digital tools and MS Office
