Microsoft AI is looking for a Member of Technical Staff – Full Stack – Engineering Manager to help build the next wave of capabilities of our personalized AI assistant, Copilot. At Microsoft AI we believe in pushing the boundaries to create outstanding products and services. You will be leading high-performing full-stack teams in delivering robust, scalable, and secure software solutions. You will be driving the development of capabilities for our Copilot product. You will model strong leadership, guide the architectural and technical direction of the product, and foster a collaborative, growth-oriented engineering culture. This role requires a deep understanding of engineering practices, people leadership, user-focused design, and operational excellence. In addition, hands-on coding and technical contribution will be a key part of your leadership, including writing and reviewing production-level code. In this role, you would be working with all the four stages of our evaluation platform: Data sampling, AI data collection and processing, data analysis/evaluation, and insights. You will take on multiple engineering roles and work across the full stack, including database backend, middle-tier services, front-end browser automation, statistical analysis, and creating consumable dashboards. Your role will also involve prompt engineering and extensive use of AI tools. Our newly formed organization, Microsoft AI, is dedicated to advancing Copilot and other consumer AI products and research. The team oversees Copilot, Bing, Edge, and generative AI research.   • Hire, manage, and lead a team of software engineers responsible for delivering secure, reliable, and scalable products
  • Ship AI powered experiences that will shape how millions of people will interact with AI in the future
  • Collaborate with Eng, Design and Product leadership to prioritize features and deliver a world-class AI companion to the world
  • Write and review code, ensuring quality, maintainability, and performance, while also setting high standards for engineering excellence across the team
  • Guide architecture and design efforts by leading discussions, creating proposals and design documents, and ensuring solutions meet business, security, and compliance requirements
  • Build and maintain testing strategies, ensuring comprehensive coverage, effective automation, and scalable test frameworks that support continuous integration and deployment
  • Drive implementation of features and systems, breaking down long-term goals into clear milestones, aligning with release plans, and ensuring cross-team coordination

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, or related technical discipline AND 6+ years technical engineering experience with coding in languages including, but not limited to, C, C++, C#, Java, JavaScript, or Python
  • Or equivalent experience
  • 3 years of people management experience
