Job Description

As Microsoft continues to push the boundaries of AI, we are on the lookout for passionate individuals to work with us on the most interesting and challenging AI questions of our time. Our vision is bold and broad — to build systems that have true artificial intelligence across agents, applications, services, and infrastructure. It’s also inclusive: we aim to make AI accessible to all — consumers, businesses, developers — so that everyone can realize its benefits. Join Microsoft’s Copilot Education team in Mountain View, where you’ll lead the charge in shaping the future of AI-powered education technology. As an Education Engineering Manager, you’ll manage and grow high-performing teams in a fast-paced, consumer-focused environment, with a strong emphasis on launching impactful products to market. We’re seeking leaders with people management experience, deep technical expertise across frontend and backend systems, and a proven track record in EdTech—especially those who thrive in both startup and large company settings. You’ll drive the development of innovative, consumer-facing AI features such as study & learn modes and quiz generation, helping to set industry standards and deliver meaningful experiences to learners. Passion for education technology and hands-on leadership are essential, as is the ability to spot underlying issues and iterate quickly. This is a high-impact, high-visibility opportunity to grow a team, shape a new vertical, and make a lasting difference in a domain that values diverse experiences and cross-pollination of ideas. If you’re energized by the chance to lead AI for education, work on products with real emotional resonance, and see EdTech as a calling—not just a career—this is the place for you.
